There are limited I/O pins on the Raspberry Pi which makes driving 128 LEDs quite an impossible task. This LED Matrix Board was specifically designed for the Raspberry Pi which uses 1 SPI interface (3 IO + 2 enabled) to control 64 LEDs which makes LED control for the Raspberry Pi much easier!
